Master's Degree Admissions

The following are the minimum admission requirements for the Master of Science in Pharmacy with a concentration in Medication Therapy Management.

Applicants must have:

  • A doctor of pharmacy OR a bachelor of science in pharmacy from a regionally accredited institution in the United States or Canada OR An equivalent doctor of pharmacy OR a bachelor of science in pharmacy from an international institution
  • Proof of licensure to practice pharmacy in the United States
    • Canadian residents who graduated from non-U.S. or Canadian institutions must have a U.S. pharmacy license, in addition to a Canadian pharmacy license.
  • (Applicants with a bachelor of science or a non-U.S. degree only) Acceptable Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores
    • Applicants who have earned a graduate or professional degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution are exempt from this requirement and do not need to submit GRE scores.
    • Applicants with a BS in pharmacy from a regionally accredited U.S. institution, earned prior to the year 2000, should contact the program to discuss PharmD-degree equivalency and the possibility of a GRE waiver.
    • Applicants with a BS in pharmacy earned after the year 2000 or a graduate, or professional degree from an international institution, must take and submit GRE scores. There is no exception.

Applicants educated outside the United States may be required to pass a test of English language fluency.

TOEFL

The English Language Skill Requirement for Admissions

If your native language is not English, or if you graduated with a bachelor’s degree from a non-English speaking country, you will need to submit your TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or other Graduate Council approved English language skills test scores.

Non-Degree Admissions

The following are the minimum admission requirements to take courses as a non-degree seeking student in the program.

Applicants must have:

  • A doctor of pharmacy OR a bachelor of science in pharmacy from a regionally accredited institution in the United States or Canada OR An equivalent doctor of pharmacy OR a bachelor of science in pharmacy from an international institution
  • Proof of licensure to practice pharmacy in the United States
    • Canadian residents who graduated from non-U.S. or Canadian institutions must have a U.S. pharmacy license, in addition to a Canadian pharmacy license.

Applicants educated outside the United States may be required to pass a test of English language fluency.

Transfer Credit to a Master's Degree

Credits taken as a non-degree seeking student can later be transferred toward the online master's degree in pharmacy with a concentration in medication therapy management. Students must earn a grade of "B" or higher to transfer credits. Students may take up to six credits without applying to the master’s program.
